Kazan Arena

Kazan Arena is relatively new stadium having been completed in July 2013, and is one of the 12 stadiums to be used for the 2018 FIFA World Cup The stadium has a capacity of 45,379.

It was designed by the architectural firm Populus. This football ground houses the largest outside screen in Europe if not the world, with an area of 4,200 square meters consisting of 3 HD plasma panels. It is also used by the club FK Rubin Kazan. It was also the first stadium built for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup. Within the stadium there are also entertainment venues, namely Zarnitsa educational science center, kid’s space children’s professions city, fitness club, pool, game center, CrossFit Pioneer sports cub, beauty salon for kids, restaurants and a hotel.

The construction started in May 2010 and completed in early 2013. In 2015 the 16th FINA World Aquatics Championship were hosted at this stadium were the football pitch were replaced by two swimming pools. Also during this event 12 swimming records were set thus making it the only football stadium in the world to hold such a record.
