The stadium has been built specifically for the coming FIFA World Cup 2018. It is located in Rostov-On-Don in Russia. It is the home of FC Rostov from the Russian premier league and will have a seating capacity of 45,000.
The stadium was designed by the firm Populos and is the largest project yet built on the southern bank of the Don river. It is also forms part of the design for the new main city center, being the focal point for further investment and proposed developments.
Within the stadium there will be a variety of shopping and dining places. After the World Cup has finished it has been proposed that the stadiums seating capacity will be reduced to 42,000. Construction on the stadium had commenced in 2013 and expected to be finished by early 2018.
